The story
Honey I'm home, Max says as he opens the door. He had just got back from his job at the NYPD. What the heck Max looks around and saw his house was a mess. Pictures everywhere furniture moved,…the phone rings Max picks it up, hello…. look you have to help me somebody is in my house and there upstairs. Voice: good, (hangs up). Max runs up stairs hears is wife screaming. A guy comes out from nowhere NYPD Max kills him when he raises his gun. Max is sad, angry saw that his baby is killed and wife. Gets a phone call its b.b from NYPD. Tells him to go to roscoe street station metro rail….

The Game play
First when you start this game Max will be at his home where the bad guys have got in and are going to kill his wife and his child. Then Max will go to Roscoe Street down in the subway where there's a major crime operation. There are different game play modes such as FUGITIVE-Is the default game play mode. Initially only fugitive and hard-boiled are available.

HARD-BOILED-A more challenging version of the game. Max's healing process is slower and health is lower. Also auto aim is scaled down.
DEAD ON ARRIVAL-The real challenge. No holds barred anymore, this is only for advanced players. Beating dead on arrival mode is the true mark of hardcore gamer. No auto aim here, and the bad guys are very hard to get down. Although Max's health is the same as in Hard-Boiled but his healing is drastically toned down, you have only 7 saved games to complete each map. NEW YORK MIN.-You have to complete each map in 1:00 min Max Payne goes into many different environments. In each level or chapter, when you see a ! Sign you have to find out what you have to do, try hitting the A button. Don't pass up notes, TV or radio broadcasts or other things max is interested in while you are playing. Max has a dozen weapons to the pump shotgun to the Molotov cocktail. Lets start out with the basic gun you will first get. The Beretta is a 9mm semi-automatic handgun that will work well in close combat but is very poor far away. The Pump-Action Shotgun is very strong and kills enemies with its first hit in the gut or head which ever you prefer. It's a standard police issue twelve-gauge shotgun. Lethal at close range, poor far away. The desert eagle can carry up to 12 in a single clip. This gun is very powerful and accurate. However, due to the recoil of this high caliber weapon, the rate of fire leaves room for improvement. As far as the Molotov cocktail goes its very different then a gun you wipe this to take out bad guys with fire. Or if you just enjoy lighting something on fire or your enemies. The colt commando is very lethal good far away not bad outside. Very strong gun can wipe out mobs in seconds. Also the basic Grenade is powerful and effective at far away range to take out mobs of thugs. Now lets get to the most powerful gun in the game the M79 this gun can take out anything that stands in your way. More powerful then a grenade use this only for far way range not unless you want to kill yourself.

Max's abilities
Max's health is very important. On the bottom left hand side of your screen is Max's health the farther the red is filled the more Max's is from death. Painkillers are Max's friends; they can help Max's health get back to normal. Finding them is a different story they might be in lockers. You can also find them in a medicine cabinet with a red cross. Or guys might be carrying them after you kill them pick them up, that is if they have any. The most painkillers you can have are 8. Another one of Max's abilities is Bullet time; this is an advantage on the bad guys this will make Max go in slow mo, as well as the bad guys. So it's easier to shot the bad guys. Max can also Shoot-dodge By pressing the left trigger while moving into any direction, Max will do a shoot dodge drive in slow motion in that direction. This will cost you a little bullet time each time you do this maneuver, but it will give you an incredible edge in combat.

The graphic novel
Max Payne's graphic novel appears throughout the game and it drives the twisting roller coaster of a story. The graphic novel introduces new surroundings, characters; plot twists and reveals relevant information that Max Payne will need to uncover the truth.

The ending
The ending of Max Payne is yours to find out will Max live will he be taking in or will he get way, you find out. I think Max Payne is the best first person shooting game that has come out in a long time.

Presentation Now-a-days we are surrounded by first person shooters. It's nice to come along a good third person shooter now and then. And Max Payne is definitely one of them.	9.0
Graphics There are some great textures and details being put out by this game. But, at times, you may notice a tad of lagging.	8.5
Gameplay Max Payne has a wonderful storyline, right from the get-go. It continues throughout the game and with the camera angles and intense bullet scenes, the game will keep you busy.	9.0
Overall The game itself has no special add-ons from the pc version, but playing Max Payne on the console, will definitely decrease your stress level!	9.0
